UFC star Conor McGregor and girlfriend Dee Devlin have welcomed a son into the world and fans are calling the child’s name “the most Conor McGregor thing ever”.

The couple named their first child, Conor Jack McGregor. He was born in Coombe Maternity Hospital on Friday night, weight 8lb 14oz (4kgs).

Grandfather Tony McGregor, told the Irish Mirror that mum and baby are both doing well.

“There’s great news for the McGregor’s and the Devlins,” he said. “Baby Conor Jack McGregor was delivered last night at 8pm in the Coombe Hospital.

“He came in at 8 pounds 14 ounces. The whole family are absolutely delighted,” he said.

“We’ve experienced this recently with our eldest daughter and there’s no better feeling in the world than being a grandparent. The parents are absolutely over the moon and everyone is healthy.”

McGregor is Ireland’s first UFC belt holder.

He and Devlin have already set up a verified Instagram account with the name Conor McGregor Jr.

The page only follows McGregor and Devlin, while its followers include McGregor’s management company Paradigm and his manager Audie Attar.

Fans couldn’t get over McGregor calling the child after himself.
